What we do, and what it costs.

Fluctus Design Studio brand mark — an abstract four-quadrant composition in shades of blue

We work in three tiers. Each one builds on the one before it, and every one of them starts with strategy, because an identity without a reason behind it is just decoration.

The figures below are starting points, not fixed quotes. Scope moves them, and we would rather tell you that upfront than surprise you later.

01

Brand Foundation

  • Strategy & Positioning
  • Brand Identity

4 to 6 weeks

from R35,000 to R65,000

What’s at stake

Most rebrands start with the logo. New mark, new colours, same confusion about what the business actually stands for. Six months later nothing has changed except the letterhead, because the problem was never a visual one.

The approach

We start with positioning, not aesthetics. Who you are for, what you stand for, and what you refuse to be. That thinking then drives the identity system, so every design decision traces back to a reason rather than a preference.

The outcome

An identity that holds up under pressure because there is something underneath it. You stop competing on price, because you stop being interchangeable.

Marty Neumeier said it plainly: a brand is not what you say it is, it is what they say it is. That is the part a logo cannot do on its own.

02

Brand & Digital Presence

  • Everything in Brand Foundation
  • Website Design & Development
  • UX & Customer Journeys
  • Digital Experiences

6 to 10 weeks

from R75,000 to R140,000

What’s at stake

Most websites are built as brochures: a list of what the business does, arranged in whatever order was easiest to build. Meanwhile the customer is trying to answer one question before they commit to anything. Can I trust these people? A site that does not answer it is an expensive leaflet.

The approach

Everything in Brand Foundation, then we map the journeys people actually take. What they need to know, in what order, before they are willing to act. The site is designed and built around those journeys rather than around a sitemap.

The outcome

A brand and a digital presence saying the same thing in the same voice. Fewer wasted visits, better qualified enquiries, and a website that works as a business asset instead of a box that got ticked.

Paul Rand described design as putting form and content together. Most websites get the form and never settle the content, which is why they look fine and say nothing.

03

Digital Ecosystem

  • Everything in Brand & Digital Presence
  • Digital Products & Apps
  • Customer & Community Systems
  • Connected Digital Ecosystems

3+ months

from R150,000 to R280,000

What’s at stake

As a business grows its systems multiply. A website here, a booking tool there, a spreadsheet nobody wants to admit to. Each one made sense on its own. Together they create manual work, leak customers between the gaps, and make the business harder to run every year it grows.

The approach

Everything in Brand & Digital Presence, then we design the connected layer around it. The products, apps and customer systems that carry the experience past the first click, built to talk to each other rather than sit side by side.

The outcome

One system instead of several. Less manual work, a customer experience that holds together from first visit to ongoing relationship, and a business that gets easier to run as it scales rather than harder.

Chris Do makes this point constantly: clients do not buy deliverables, they buy outcomes. At this scale nobody is buying a website. They are buying a business that runs better.

We take on eight engagements a year. The cap is deliberate. It is what allows senior involvement on every project instead of work being handed down the moment it is sold.

It also means timing matters. If the calendar does not work, we will tell you straight rather than stretch ourselves thin and do a worse job of it.

Not sure which one fits?

Most businesses are not, at the start. Tell us what is actually going wrong and we will tell you honestly which tier solves it, or whether you need us at all.
